Membership is free, and open to all Vernacular Gaels (Native Speakers), living in or raised in the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar local authority region.
You do not need to have a qualification in Gaelic, or be fully confident of your fluency across the skills of reading, writing, speaking or listening through Gaelic, to join us.
The purpose of the group is to establish frameworks that enable us to return to owning and using our Vernacular Gaelic in ways that suit us at community level, without interference or dominance by any other group or bureaucracy.
Allyship and Support
We welcome allyship and support from Gaelic Learners, New speakers of Gaelic, and all others globally, who support our aim of saving our mother tongue within the social and cultural context of the Outer Hebrides.
